Toys for Tots Campaign

Press release for Community Emergency Corps-

Community Emergency Corps & Toys for Tots

During this upcoming holiday season Community Emergency Corps of Ballston Spa will again be an official drop off point for donations for the Toys for Tots program sponsored by the United States Marine Corps.  This campaign has reached out and assisted needy and deserving children all around the capital region for over 45 years. A significant addition to the program for 2015 is the addition of the Ballston Spa Holiday Parade on December 4th at 6:30pm as a point of collection. In lieu of a grand marshal this year, the parade will spotlight the Toys for Tots campaign, in partnership with Community Emergency Corps, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department, the Ballston Spa Rotary, and the U.S. Marine Corps. Volunteers from these organizations will be on hand to collect donations of new, unwrapped toys from spectators along the parade route as well as at the tree lighting. Even just one toy from each family would be tremendously helpful.

Our program has grown incredibly over the  years, through your donations, and we are hoping by adding this event we will see a significant increase in donations with the additional exposure.  New, unwrappedtoys, games, books, puzzles, sport balls, dolls, snow toys, and anything for kids from infant to teens are all appreciated. Stuffed toys are the only exception.

We have already started to receive donations and will be accepting toys at our station at 78 Thompson St., Ballston Spa, NY until December 15th.  You can drop them off anytime, days or evenings. If we are not at the building due to answering emergency calls, we hope you will return at another time with your contribution. As a reminder, toys collected in this area are redistributed right back into this area to those in need.
